-1 cup of raw homemade nut milk of your choice. I used almond milk- recipe here.
– 1 heaped Tbsp cacao powder or carob powder
– 1 medium frozen banana
– 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1/2 vanilla pod
– sweetener optional- 1 T agave or coconut sugar or a pinch of stevia (no calorie natural sweetener)
– Handful of ice cubes
Blend all ingredients together until smooth and serve 🙂
This can also be served as a warm drink by gently heating the blended mixture (excluding the ice) on the stove until warm. Do not boil- this will only decrease the nutritive value of this yummy drink 🙂
